Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men & Nice Girls Don't Live Forever
This is two book reviews in one. I couldn't put this series down by Molly Harper. The first book is Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs, in which the story of Jane Jameson begins. In these latest books, Jane, a hilarious yet sarcastic ex-librarian, still has family problems, she just inherited a book store, and her boyfriend may or may not be cheating on her. As Jane goes through these perils, she also has to deal with a hypnotized best friend who is getting married and later is having twins, a dead boss who is currently dating her dead grand-mother, and a thieving sister. These books are seriously funny, and it reminded me strongly of the dry- humored MaryJane Davidson novels, so if any of you are fans of Queen Betsy series, you will love these! I read these so fast that these two books almost blur together, and there are some really sweet passages in here that melt my heart, being the hopeless romantic that I am. I really recommend this whole series, especially for long weekends or on a plane, because you will zip through them.

Saturday Movie Reviews
I've decided that every saturday, I will watch a movie and then blog and review on it. This week's movie is CutThroat Island, starring Geena Davis and Matthew Modine. Geena Davis has starred in Beetlejuice, Stuart Little, and Thelma & Louise, to name a few. I'm suprised that Matthew Modine wasn't a bigger star, he reminds me so much of Cary Ewles from The Princess Bride and Robin Hood:Men in Tights. He would be the perfect actor for so many comedian movies. Plus he ain't that bad looking. This movie, which can be very cheesy and cliched at times, is also very heart-warming and funny and has some individuality. My favorite line from this mvoie is "They're backwards."says Morgan. "I assure you ma'am, they are normal in every respect." replies Shaw. You have to see the movie to get it. It's a very good movie, and I'm glad that I got it. It is 119 minutes long and rated PG-13. It's a movie, you will want to watch over and over again.
Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper
Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper was a hilarious book that was perfect for me. A librarian turned vampire, with a crazy family and a overprotective sire, and eventually lover, is the perfect mix. I could not put it down! It was hilarious and I laughed throughout the whole thing. The plot is Jane Jameson, a regular hardworking children's librarian is suddenly fired from her job. She decides that with nothing better to do, she is going to drown her sorrows with all the drinks and curly fries she can. After meeting a handsome man, she leaves, only to find that halfway down the road her car has broken down. She gets out of her car and is promptly shot, being mistaken for a deer and so begins her life as one ot the udead. She has to deal with being unemployed, seeing the ghost of her dead Aunt Jettie, and figuring out her relationship with her sire, Gabriel. I thought that this book was a tremendously good read. It is the first book in the Jane Jameson Series.

Hairspray!
Hairspray came out in 2007. I found that it was a great movie, and it dealt with issues, such as racism and obesity. It is hilarious, and is filled with big actors and actresses, like John Travolta-who is playing a woman, Zac Efron-playing a popular and stupid boy, Michelle Pfieffer-an evil lady, and others-Amanda Bynes, Christopher Walken, Brittany Snow, and the lead, Nikki Blonsky. This film has great comedy and wonderful music that takes you back to the 60's. I haven't seen the original movie, so i can't compare it to anything, but I think that is a great movie with a not-so classic plotline. Plus, me being a romantic, I love the ending! John Travolta is funny, and even though, I don't think that it's Zac Efron's best movie-I actually have to find one that I like, he did very well. And the bonus is he's HOT! ;)

Once Upon a Midnight
I was actually suprised at how much I enjoyed this book. It was really good! It involves 4 mini-books written by Nora Roberts, Jill Gregory, Ruth Ryan Langan and Marianne Wilman, all famous romance writers. These books are connected through the time of midnight, to find their loves. This book was exactly what I needed! It's all about love and romance, my favorite! :) I really want to read the rest of the series, some of which are Once Upon a Rose, Once Upon a Castle, and Once Upon a Kiss, to name a few. The only complaint I had of the book, was that it started very slow, the very first chapter was hard, but then I started to get into it, and like I said I was very suprised. In a good way!

Maximum Ride, The Protectors: Max
I have always liked the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. I found them very interesting and a very easy read. This particular book I didn't find as great as the others. Actually, I haven't found the "Protecter" part of the series as well as the "Fugitive" books. Max is about the flock: Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel. They embark on a journey: A) to save the world, B) to save her mom, and C) figure out what the heck is going on with Fang. Max has issues throughout the whole book with Ms. Brigid, whom she is extremely jealous of, Angel, who continues to disobey, and out herself in harms way, while developing new powers. As the book goes on, Max faces one of her very few fears-the airtight submarine, as they go down into the watery depths of the ocean. Halfway through the book, it turned out to be horribly boring, I had a little trouble getting through it. In the end though, the sizzling new romance between Max and Fang kept the book going a little. The next book in the series is Fang, which I will read as soon as it comes out in paperback and the movie is said to be coming out in 2010 or I have also heard 2013 is the release date, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

UGH!
I have just watched The Vampire Diaries, and it's not bad, actually my sister loves it! However, I did seem to find that it is FULL of cliches! Today, I watched as Elena offered her wirst to Stefan, to help him survive. EVERY vampire book, and movie has that scene. The heroine saving her beloved with her blood. SO cliched. I have not read the books yet but plan to, as soon as I have read the other five million books I have to read. It will never be as good as Twilight, though. :)

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
I just finished reading Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen and found it to be a very good read. However, I did not find it to be one of her best books. It's about an insomniac, Auden, who meets another insomniac, Eli. They start to connect to each other as Auden goes on a quest for the childhood she never had, while Eli reopens about an accident that happened nearly over a year ago. Auden has to deal with new experiences, new friends, parent problems and learning to ride a bike. Do not let the cover mislead you, this is not some fluffy-taled romance with a pink dress and a (to put it modestly) SMOKIN' guy. It is a problematic story that keeps going until the end. Also, I just wanted to say how absolutly annoying it gets when main characters do stuff that is completely STUPID, you would think theyed know better!!! But i suppose that's how the story keeps on a rollin'. Anyway, i would recommend this book and any other Sarah Dessen books, because i find that they are all very realistic and not fruity like some other books.

Just to Start
Just to start this blog won't be all about books, although some will be, but I will also be watching and reviewing movies. I would like to remind everyone that all the statements are opinion and not fact. Also, you don't have to like what I write but I do hope you enjoy it!
