Moon Fever by Various Authors
Moon Fever by Maggie Shayne, Susan Sizemore, Lori Handleland, and Caridad Pineiro. I loved this book! It was one of the best paranormal romance short story book that I have read in good while. "Tempting Fate" was the first short story and I liked it a lot. The only thing was that the first chapter said ten years later and it confused me at the beginning. However, it all works out in the end, and I really enjoyed it. "The Darkness Within" was the second story and I liked the twist that happens towards the end of the book. In "Cobwebs Over The Moon", I also liked this one and again because of the twist that happens at the end. "Crazy For The Cat" was probably my favorite, even though it was close between all of them. I just liked the way it was put together. Actually, I liked the way the whole book was put together. Everything clicked and I liked that. I would definitely recomend this book for anyone who is looking for a quick, steamy read.

Holiday Brides by Various Authors
Holiday Brides by Jewel Amethyst, Farrah Rochon, Stefanie Worth. I know that this is out of season, but I felt in the mood for something Christmas-y and uplifting. This book contains 3 short stories, all of which were good. The first was "SKB with Love", which was my second favorite and the reason why, is because the main character kind of ticked me off towards the end. The second short story was "No Ordinary Gift", my favorite. I thought that it was realistic and heart-touching. My least favorite was, "HeavenSent.Com", which was a good story but it jumped around and the main character again just ticked me off. I sort of wanted to say "Get over it or get his side of the story! Don't jump to conclusions! ARGH!" but that's just me. All in all, I found this book, even though it's Christmas stories, an okay read.

Pretty Little Liars - Avatar Creator
Pretty Little Liars - Avatar Creator I'm not sure how this will turn out, but I wanted to try this. I have read most of the Pretty Little Liar series. Now there is a new TV series coming on ABC family about the books. It's about 4 girls who all have dirty little secrets and someone is out to expose them, named "A", possibly after a girl who died years earlier. This series is filled with twists and turns, so if you like mystery, I suggest you read them.

Saturday Movie Reviews
Alice in Wonderland! I really liked this movie and not just because I'm a natural Disney fan. :) This was so better than the original. As a child, the original movie would give me nightmare's and it had a very creepy and delusional feeling to it. As I watch it now, well it still gives me the creeps, especially the cheshire cat and his horrible way of never answering questions. However, this new Tim Burton film, starring Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and Anne Hathaway-hey, really quick trivia, this was also the name of Shakespeare's wife-as the White Queen. The plot is Alice having grown-up, returns to Wonderland to defeat the Red Queen. I like how in this version we learn about some of the background of how the Red Queen came into power. I also liked how it still held a few classic scenes form the book, such as the falling down the hole, the shrinking and growing of Alice, and some of the popular qoutes, like "curioser and curioser"-say that ten times fast. All in all, it was a great movie and I had a fun time laughing and watching the movie-especially the dancing part! It is also showing in 3D,

Swoon by Nina Malkin
Swoon by Nina Malkin was very um....interesting. It's not that I didn't like this book, it's just that I thought it could have been better. This story takes place in a small town called Swoon, where Candice-better known as Dice-a slightly psychic teenager, who after her cousin is possessed does some magic to give the possessee a body of his own. The boy, named Sinclair, Sin for short, wreaks havoc on the town of Swoon, for the injustice of his death. There is a growing love between Sin and Dice, but there love is confronted with many problems, such as Sin's dead love, whos death happened to be Sin's demise. I liked this book, even though I didn't like the ending, but that's just me. There were a couple things that bothered me, especially the way the transitions went. It was sometimes hard to follow because it jumped around a lot and I would have to reread to get something that I should have been able to comprehend right away. I thought this book was very individual and would read it again, through all the shortcomings.

Twilight:The Graphic Novel, Volume 1
Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1 by Stephenie Meyer and Kim Young. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The telling of Twilight from the mind of Stephanie Meyer a she envisioned it, before the movie. This is what I pictured as I read the book. The only thing that I was disappionted about. in this book was the fact that it didn't continue on. I didn't really mind that the whole book wasn't in color, it sort of left more to the imagination. Considering that I'm not really a fan of Graphic novels, this would be high on my list to have. I don't know if it could be considered reading, but it is a good book and i enjoyed it.

Saturday Movie Review
Kung fu Panda was this week's Saturday Review, even though I am doing the review on a Sunday. When this movie first came out, I was a little doubtful that it would be this great hit that everyone thought it would be. I couldn't have more wrong! This is the perfect movie for young children or any age that enjoys hilarious antics. It has many big actors and actresses in this movie, such as Jack Black who plays the lovable P0, and others like, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Lu, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, and much more. The plot is very simple to follow and the whole movie is extremely easy to watch. It is so quotable! One of my new favorite words from this movie is"Skadoosh", and my favorite qoute would be the fist sentence of the movie, "Legend tells of a legendary warrior who's kung fu skills were the stuff of legends". If you are ever in need of something to laugh at or just watch without having to think, this is the perfect movie. Plus the music at the end, which is "Kung fu Fighting" makes me want to get up and dance everytime. It is rated PG and is 92 minutes.

Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men & Nice Girls Don't Live Forever
This is two book reviews in one. I couldn't put this series down by Molly Harper. The first book is Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs, in which the story of Jane Jameson begins. In these latest books, Jane, a hilarious yet sarcastic ex-librarian, still has family problems, she just inherited a book store, and her boyfriend may or may not be cheating on her. As Jane goes through these perils, she also has to deal with a hypnotized best friend who is getting married and later is having twins, a dead boss who is currently dating her dead grand-mother, and a thieving sister. These books are seriously funny, and it reminded me strongly of the dry- humored MaryJane Davidson novels, so if any of you are fans of Queen Betsy series, you will love these! I read these so fast that these two books almost blur together, and there are some really sweet passages in here that melt my heart, being the hopeless romantic that I am. I really recommend this whole series, especially for long weekends or on a plane, because you will zip through them.

Saturday Movie Reviews
I've decided that every saturday, I will watch a movie and then blog and review on it. This week's movie is CutThroat Island, starring Geena Davis and Matthew Modine. Geena Davis has starred in Beetlejuice, Stuart Little, and Thelma & Louise, to name a few. I'm suprised that Matthew Modine wasn't a bigger star, he reminds me so much of Cary Ewles from The Princess Bride and Robin Hood:Men in Tights. He would be the perfect actor for so many comedian movies. Plus he ain't that bad looking. This movie, which can be very cheesy and cliched at times, is also very heart-warming and funny and has some individuality. My favorite line from this mvoie is "They're backwards."says Morgan. "I assure you ma'am, they are normal in every respect." replies Shaw. You have to see the movie to get it. It's a very good movie, and I'm glad that I got it. It is 119 minutes long and rated PG-13. It's a movie, you will want to watch over and over again.
Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper
Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper was a hilarious book that was perfect for me. A librarian turned vampire, with a crazy family and a overprotective sire, and eventually lover, is the perfect mix. I could not put it down! It was hilarious and I laughed throughout the whole thing. The plot is Jane Jameson, a regular hardworking children's librarian is suddenly fired from her job. She decides that with nothing better to do, she is going to drown her sorrows with all the drinks and curly fries she can. After meeting a handsome man, she leaves, only to find that halfway down the road her car has broken down. She gets out of her car and is promptly shot, being mistaken for a deer and so begins her life as one ot the udead. She has to deal with being unemployed, seeing the ghost of her dead Aunt Jettie, and figuring out her relationship with her sire, Gabriel. I thought that this book was a tremendously good read. It is the first book in the Jane Jameson Series.

Hairspray!
Hairspray came out in 2007. I found that it was a great movie, and it dealt with issues, such as racism and obesity. It is hilarious, and is filled with big actors and actresses, like John Travolta-who is playing a woman, Zac Efron-playing a popular and stupid boy, Michelle Pfieffer-an evil lady, and others-Amanda Bynes, Christopher Walken, Brittany Snow, and the lead, Nikki Blonsky. This film has great comedy and wonderful music that takes you back to the 60's. I haven't seen the original movie, so i can't compare it to anything, but I think that is a great movie with a not-so classic plotline. Plus, me being a romantic, I love the ending! John Travolta is funny, and even though, I don't think that it's Zac Efron's best movie-I actually have to find one that I like, he did very well. And the bonus is he's HOT! ;)
Would I recommend this movie? Yes

Once Upon a Midnight
I was actually suprised at how much I enjoyed this book. It was really good! It involves 4 mini-books written by Nora Roberts, Jill Gregory, Ruth Ryan Langan and Marianne Wilman, all famous romance writers. These books are connected through the time of midnight, to find their loves. This book was exactly what I needed! It's all about love and romance, my favorite! :) I really want to read the rest of the series, some of which are Once Upon a Rose, Once Upon a Castle, and Once Upon a Kiss, to name a few. The only complaint I had of the book, was that it started very slow, the very first chapter was hard, but then I started to get into it, and like I said I was very suprised. In a good way!

Maximum Ride, The Protectors: Max
I have always liked the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. I found them very interesting and a very easy read. This particular book I didn't find as great as the others. Actually, I haven't found the "Protecter" part of the series as well as the "Fugitive" books. Max is about the flock: Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel. They embark on a journey: A) to save the world, B) to save her mom, and C) figure out what the heck is going on with Fang. Max has issues throughout the whole book with Ms. Brigid, whom she is extremely jealous of, Angel, who continues to disobey, and out herself in harms way, while developing new powers. As the book goes on, Max faces one of her very few fears-the airtight submarine, as they go down into the watery depths of the ocean. Halfway through the book, it turned out to be horribly boring, I had a little trouble getting through it. In the end though, the sizzling new romance between Max and Fang kept the book going a little. The next book in the series is Fang, which I will read as soon as it comes out in paperback and the movie is said to be coming out in 2010 or I have also heard 2013 is the release date, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

UGH!
I have just watched The Vampire Diaries, and it's not bad, actually my sister loves it! However, I did seem to find that it is FULL of cliches! Today, I watched as Elena offered her wirst to Stefan, to help him survive. EVERY vampire book, and movie has that scene. The heroine saving her beloved with her blood. SO cliched. I have not read the books yet but plan to, as soon as I have read the other five million books I have to read. It will never be as good as Twilight, though. :)

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
I just finished reading Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen and found it to be a very good read. However, I did not find it to be one of her best books. It's about an insomniac, Auden, who meets another insomniac, Eli. They start to connect to each other as Auden goes on a quest for the childhood she never had, while Eli reopens about an accident that happened nearly over a year ago. Auden has to deal with new experiences, new friends, parent problems and learning to ride a bike. Do not let the cover mislead you, this is not some fluffy-taled romance with a pink dress and a (to put it modestly) SMOKIN' guy. It is a problematic story that keeps going until the end. Also, I just wanted to say how absolutly annoying it gets when main characters do stuff that is completely STUPID, you would think theyed know better!!! But i suppose that's how the story keeps on a rollin'. Anyway, i would recommend this book and any other Sarah Dessen books, because i find that they are all very realistic and not fruity like some other books.
